Interoperability direction

CAD should feed a reviewed estimate—not become a black box.

Today, estimators can review and measure local PDF drawings manually. Future CAD adapters may import candidate dimensions or schedules, but every imported quantity must remain traceable and require approval before it affects a BoQ.

  1. Now
    Page-aware manual PDF takeoff

Calibrate each page, record reviewed measurements and explicitly accept BoQ candidates.

  2. Next
    Portable exchange

Extend the existing reviewed CSV/JSON mappings for quantities, prices and estimate hand-off.

  3. Later
    DXF/IFC adapters

Import selected geometry or schedules with validation, provenance and user approval.

Design rule: imported data remains traceable, editable and untrusted until a person confirms it.
